Safety & Care Standards at NaJu Pets

How We Protect Pets, People, and Peace of Mind Every Day

Choosing a place to care for your pet requires trust. At NaJu Pets, safety is built into how we operate. From facility design to staff training and daily routines, our systems are designed to support a structured, well-supervised environment where pets can feel comfortable.

These standards guide how we approach services across the resort, including doggy daycare, boarding, grooming, and puppy programs.

Our Commitment to Safety Has Always Been Core to Who We Are

NaJu Pets has been family-owned and operated in Panama City since 1975. Over the decades, our focus has remained the same: providing attentive care in a structured environment where pets can thrive.

As the business has grown, so have our facilities and systems. Today, our purpose-built property allows us to care for many pets while maintaining organized routines and close supervision.

Safety has always been part of how we operate, not something added later.

Facility Security & Monitoring

Clear visibility throughout the property helps our team stay aware of what is happening across the resort. NaJu Pets maintains 52 high-definition cameras placed throughout the facility, providing coverage across key areas.

These systems support daily oversight and help staff maintain awareness of activity across the property. Monitoring tools like these allow us to keep operations organized and accountable.

Fire, Life & Emergency Preparedness

NaJu Pets maintains a modern fire and life safety system through Johnson Controls that meets current safety standards.

These systems help protect both pets and staff within the facility. While emergencies are rare, responsible planning is an important part of operating a professional pet care environment.

Staff Training, Education & Behavior Expertise

Facilities and equipment matter, but knowledgeable staff are essential to safe pet care.

At NaJu Pets, continuing education is a priority for our team. Staff regularly participate in training focused on canine behavior, safe handling, and supervised playgroup management.

Our team includes an in-house Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and our training focuses on:

  • Understanding canine body language
  • Safe and confident handling techniques
  • Positive reinforcement approaches
  • Managing group play dynamics
  • Recognizing signs of stress in dogs

This training helps staff guide interactions and maintain a calm, structured environment for pets.

Playgroup Structure & Supervision

Social play can be beneficial for many dogs when it is carefully managed. At NaJu Pets, dogs participating in doggy daycare and other social programs are grouped based on compatibility factors such as:

  • Size
  • Temperament
  • Energy level
  • Play style

Staff actively supervise group activity and adjust groups when needed. This structured approach helps create balanced play environments where dogs can interact comfortably.

These same principles support services such as boarding and Puppy Preschool, where supervised interaction helps encourage positive behavior.

Ongoing Care & Operational Standards

Maintaining high standards requires regular evaluation and continued learning. At NaJu Pets, we review procedures, staff training, and facility systems to ensure they continue to support the pets in our care.

Education, facility updates, and operational improvements help us maintain consistent care as the industry evolves.

Peace of Mind for Pet Parents

When you leave your pet with us, you want to know they are being cared for by people who take that responsibility seriously. Our approach combines facility oversight, trained staff, and structured daily routines to support the well-being of every pet.

Whether your dog visits for daycare, boarding, grooming, or training programs, our goal is to provide a calm, organized environment where pets receive attentive care.
