NaJu Pets is a family-owned and operated business with a rich history of caring for pets since 1975. Founded by Nancy and Julian Hunt—known affectionately as Polly and Biff—our story began when they bought an old dairy farm in 1975 to raise their new family. They continued their passion for breeding, raising, and showing dogs professionally in AKC competitions throughout the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. During the 1980s, Polly and Biff earned national recognition with our American Foxhounds, placing in the top 10 in the nation, including a remarkable number 3 and 8 in the Nation.
The Hunts bred Foxhounds, Bassetts, Beagles, and showcased many other breeds, including Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Rottweilers, and Dachshunds. When their son, Biff, was born in 1975, Polly decided to stay home with him, and the Hunts transformed their private breeding and show kennel into a public facility for pet care. They knew that the same qualities they focused on—cleanliness, consistent routine, and socialization—were exactly what pet owners wanted for their own pets. In September 1975, NaJu Pets officially opened on their home property, marking the start of what has become a trusted name in pet care.
NaJu Pets spent 25 years at the original family property before moving, in 1999, to a beautiful 7-acre site, where we built a fully customized facility designed for top-tier pet care. What started as a small operation has grown into a trusted pet care facility with over 30 employees, serving hundreds of pets daily.
At NaJu Pets, we provide a wide range of services, including dog and cat boarding, professional grooming (both at our resort and through mobile services), doggie daycare, puppy preschool, training, and a pet shuttle service for convenient pick-up and delivery. Our renowned park adventures offer pets a fun, staff supervised experience in a 2.5 acre space complete with real grass, ramps, tunnels, hills, and our famous NaJu Lagoon, the area’s first and only doggy splash pad.
With over 30 years of hands-on experience, Biff Hunt, Nancy and Julian’s son, grew up in the business, and is now President and Owner of NaJu Pets, leads a dedicated team of pet lovers. Our team is filled with skilled professionals like groomers Yaneczka and Ayanna, and caring staff members like Tylor, who is known for remembering every pet by name.
We take pride in maintaining the values our family instilled in the business: care, trust, and community. Whether your pet is staying with us for boarding, enjoying a fun-filled day in doggy daycare, or receiving grooming, you can rest assured they’ll be treated like one of our own.
